Vegan ganache

by Kayla Magazine

I got this vegan ganache recipe from a friend. My husband is the biggest fan of chocolate and everything that has to do with it. No matter what dessert he has, if it’s not chocolate, it won’t make him happy. I’m not a big fan of chocolate, so I decided to find a compromise. I’ve got this quick and easy vegan ganache recipe. Now I can garnish all my cakes and tarts. I think you don’t have to make everything from chocolate when you make a cake to please chocolate fans. Any kind of biscuit or filling goes! If there is good chocolate frosting on top, everyone will be happy. This vegan ganache will add a pleasant chocolate flavor to the cake.

This vegan chocolate ganache recipe is so easy and simple to make. I use dark or milk chocolate and vegan milk. It is perfect for cupcakes, cakes, pies, and tarts. I made dairy free birthday cake with homemade vegan chocolate frosting. It turned out great. For this vegan icing recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients.

Ingredients needed for dark chocolate vegan ganache

10.5 oz (300 g) of your favorite dark quality chocolate

10.5 oz (300 g) plant-based milk (I use oat milk. You can use your favorite, or the one you have in the fridge)

Ingredients needed for milk chocolate vegan ganache

10.5 oz (300 g) milk chocolate (Milk chocolate contains milk powder, look for chocolate with oat milk powder, or just dairy free milk chocolate)

7 oz (200 g)  oat milk

How to make vegan ganache

Add a bit of water to a medium saucepan. Place the glass bowl on top. The water in the pot should reach the bottom of the bowl, so that when the water boils, it should not overflow.

chocolate icing

Crumble the chocolate into small pieces and place in the bowl. Pour milk over it. Cover the bowl.

Once the water starts to boil, wait a few minutes until the chocolate melts.

Mix the melted chocolate with the warmed oat milk until combined.

When the bowl has been taken out of the pot, let the vegan ganache to cool for a few minutes, then pour it over the cake that has already been prepared.

If you let it hang out longer, the ganache will set and you will have to apply it with a spatula. You won’t be able to make beautiful chocolate icicles with hardened frosting.

Decorate the top and sides with chopped nuts if you wish, fruit or any of your favorite things. You should do it right away after you pour the vegan ganache. I mean while the frosting hasn’t set. You can make decorations on top as well. Enjoy!

I haven’t tried making white chocolate ganache yet, but I’ll definitely post the recipe when I figure out the proportions.

Facts about chocolate you may want to know

Made from the seed of the cacao tree dark chocolate is loaded with nutrients that can positively affect your health. Cocoa is very nutritious. Dark chocolate with 70–85% cocoa contains: fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium. Chocolate is loaded with organic compounds that are biologically active and function as antioxidants. These include polyphenols, flavanols and catechins, among others. The health benefits of dark chocolate are amazing. Maybe that’s why my hubby loves it so much.
